BNETAL has been engaged by CAQH^® CORE^® for its CORE Phase IV Connectivity Operating Rule development, where BNETAL provides subject matter expertise and facilitation to industry stakeholders including Health Plans, Clearinghouses, Healthcare Providers, government entities, vendors, and standards development organizations. BNETAL was tapped for its in-depth expertise in connectivity and security and its knowledge of the healthcare administrative transactions and more broadly, health-IT interoperability standards. BNETAL has provided connectivity and security expertise to CAQH since 2006, has conducted several industry training webinars, and has represented CAQH in several national level initiatives in healthcare interoperability.

The CORE Operating Rules developed in previous Phases (I, II and III) were focused on Healthcare Eligibility (X12 270/271), Claim Status (X12 276/277), and Electronic Remittance Advice (X12 835) transactions. These Operating Rules have been adopted into the Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations and have been mandated for HIPAA covered entities. The current Phase (IV) is focused on the next set of transactions, including:

• Healthcare Claims or equivalent encounter information (X12 837)
• Enrollment and dis-enrollment in a health plan (X12 834)
• Health plan premium payment (X12 820)
• Referral certification and authorization (X12 278)
